Hello Beth –

I am addressing this to you as the person that I was told that Marlette reports to, but to everyone at Fair Hills/Five Lakes I want to say a hearty THANK YOU! for everything that you all did to make my daughter Melissa’s wedding a wonderful experience for all of us! It’s been two weeks since the event, but we are all still feeling “the glow”.

While we have roots in Detroit Lakes through many Ericksen family cottages on Lake Melissa, our immediate family is from Chicago, so the majority of our wedding guests were coming from out of town, many of them from very far away. I’m pretty sure that the overwhelming impression was that they had all traveled over the rainbow.

First and foremost, Marlette is/was amazing! Working with her was a complete joy from start to finish. Melissa and I both got the sense that Five Lakes was the place and Marlette was our person from our first meeting last summer. She guided us through the planning and execution of everything in such a calm and organized way. And it was so nice to go into wedding day without the bride or her mom having a care in the world. I had no doubt that if anything came up, Marlette would handle it.

To Cheryl and Lisa – the food was fabulous! We got so many compliments. No one expects to be so impressed with a wedding meal, so they gushed. I personally loved the chicken.

Thank you Emma for keeping our guests watered. And the bartenders were delightful. It was fun to see them enjoying the evening along with everyone else.

Thank you to all of the staff for working so well with all of the outside vendors that we brought in. There is such an air of hospitality at Five Lakes!

And finally, our guests who stayed in the cabins at Five Lakes absolutely loved the resort. It was like a summer camp weekend with a big party at the end. All sorts of new friendships were made between Melissa’s and Will’s friends and family.

It will be my dream to attend, if not put on, another wedding at Five Lakes someday. I’m sorry that I cannot offer you any constructive criticism, because I wouldn’t change a thing about our experience.

I just wanted to tell you once again how perfect The Barn at Five Lakes was. We couldn’t have been happier with how things worked out. I can’t tell you how many compliments we had on the whole setting. It was something unique and new. No one could ask for anyone easier to work with than you and all of your employees. I loved how the wedding turned out. Thank you for making that happen for us.

We had the pleasure of having our son’s rehearsal dinner at The Barn at Five Lakes Resort a couple years ago. It was a fun, memorable night made possible by the staff at Five Lakes Resort. The Barn was a wonderful venue —elegantly rustic with a warm and cozy feel. All of our guests had a Fabulous time! We would use The Barn at Five Lakes Resort again.

The weekend was perfect, everyone had a fantastic time and we were blown away by the Barn!! Thank you so much for everything!

The Barn at Five Lakes was an amazing place to have our wedding. They were extremely accommodating to our needs and helped us with every decision along the way. The scenery is awesome and looks awesome in photographs. I would absolutely recommend this venue to everyone!

Couldn’t imagine a better venue in the area for a wedding. Staff was excellent, food was great. Very professional team!
